Some interesting results

Atul (Gujarat), Feb 4: Sourabh Verma beat India’s best emerging player, Sai Praneeth, in the final of the All India Senior Ranking Tournament on Friday. Verma won 11-21 21-15 21-19; a surprise result, for Praneeth has been in fine form recently.
In the WS, PV Sindhu decimated Sayali Gokhale. Other winners: Arun Vishnu/ Aparna Balan (XD), Jyotsna/ Aparna Balan; Akshay Dewalkar/ Arun Vishnu.
Interestingly, Sai Praneeth even beat senior compatriot Guru Sai Dutt in the quarters and HS Prannoy in the semis. Verma survived a close battle from Pratul Joshi in the quarters. Praneeth has had some brilliant results lately — after his loss to Prannoy in the Bangalore final, he’s beaten him twice in succession — including the semis of the National juniors. He seems to be coming of age quickly.

About badmintonmania

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the Indian in Thoreau's Walden who makes cane baskets and is surprised nobody wants them. A. was talking about discipline when she said: "But Dev, if you want to move ahead in life, you'll have to be like that," and she may as well have defined everything else for me. I've played the low percentage game for too long to believe there's anything in it but the romance; the odds keep getting jacked up higher and higher; and you may be a good Idealist but a worse Fool.
