Ajay Jayaram, Anand Pawar advance into main draw

Birmingham: Ajay Jayaram and Anand Pawar entered the main draw of the All England Open Premier Super Series tournament, winning both their qualifying matches on Tuesday. In the first round of qualifying, Jayaram got past Dutch veteran Eric Pang 21-17 21-14, while Pawar overcame young Dane Rune Ulsing 21-10 22-20. Later in the day, Jayaram had another good win, over Hans-Christian Vittinghus (Den) 17-21 21-15 22-20. Anand Pawar joined his teammate with a surprisingly easy 21-18 21-11 result over Hsuan Yi Hsueh (Tpe).
In first round action on Wednesday, Jayaram will take on Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka (Ina) and Pawar will play Thai left-hander Tanongsak.
