Shock loss for Saina, but Sourabh stuns Sony

New Delhi: India suffered a massive heartbreak on the second day of the India Open Superseries, with home favourite Saina Nehwal crashing out, but two local hopefuls salvaged the day with unlikely wins. While world number four and top seed Saina Nehwal of India crashed out 21-17 21-19 to Japan’s Ai Goto in the first round, her compatriots Sourabh Verma and Guru Sai Dutt pulled off impressive wins. Saina scales Swiss peak

Basel: Saina Nehwal salvaged her early European season in the best way possible – by winning the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold on Sunday. Following a disappointing loss in the quarterfinals of the prestigious All England Super Series Premier in the last fortnight, Saina fought her way to the Swiss title – on the way defeating her All England conqueror, Eriko Hirose, in the second round.
